Accessibility Statement

Our aim

Our target is for slotivaro.site to meet or exceed Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. We build booking websites for others to the same aim, so we hold our own site to it.

What we tested on this site

  • Every page with a keyboard alone, including the menu, the planner, the contact form and the booking demo.
  • Visible focus outlines on light and dark backgrounds, checked for contrast.
  • Text and button colour contrast against WCAG AA ratios, using a script that checks the colour pairs in our stylesheet.
  • Layout at screen widths down to 320 pixels without sideways scrolling.
  • Controls, links and form checkboxes at least 24 by 24 pixels, or spaced so they meet the target size criterion.
  • The booking demo's calendar, which follows the keyboard pattern in the W3C ARIA Authoring Practices Guide and announces changes through a live region.
  • Pages with JavaScript turned off. The menu and content remain available; the planner and demo explain what they need.

Design choices that help

  • Headings in order, landmarks for header, navigation, main content and footer, and a skip link.
  • Form fields with visible labels, hints linked to fields and error messages in text next to the field.
  • Tables that turn into labelled cards on small screens.
  • No content that flashes, autoplays or moves on its own.
  • Animations reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.

Known limitations

  • The small website mock-ups on the home and concepts pages contain decorative text at small sizes. They are hidden from screen readers, and the same information is given in normal text beside them.
  • The contact form's security check expires after two hours. If that happens, the text you typed is kept and you can send it again.

Report a problem

If something on this site does not work for you, write to hello@slotivaro.site and tell us the page and what happened. We will fix what we can and tell you what we changed. If you need any content in another format, ask and we will provide it.

Standards context

Ontario's accessibility rules require Ontario organizations of 50 or more staff, along with designated public bodies, to bring their public websites up to WCAG 2.0 Level AA. WCAG 2.2 Level AA includes those criteria and adds more. Our guide to accessible date pickers explains how these standards apply to booking calendars.
