Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the questions people ask before starting a booking website project. Each links to the page with the full detail.

Working with us

What does Slotivaro actually do?

We design and build booking and appointment websites for Canadian service businesses, and set up the scheduling rules, calendar connections, payments and messages behind them. We do not run a booking marketplace or take bookings on your behalf.

Who will I deal with during a project?

The same person handles your project from first call to the post-launch check-ins, so you never have to explain your rules twice.

How long does a project take?

For a typical small booking site we plan for five to nine weeks from our first call to launch, including discovery. Larger projects take longer, and the written plan gives a date range. See the process page for each stage.

Do you have client examples I can see?

We have no client work to show yet. The concepts page shows six illustrative designs for fictional businesses, and the booking demo shows a working calendar of the kind we build.

Do you work outside Canada?

The site, its guides and our quotes are written for Canadian businesses, in Canadian dollars. If you are elsewhere, contact us and we will tell you honestly whether we are a good fit.

Booking setup

Will you make me use a particular booking platform?

No. We test your rules against suitable platforms and, if none fits, outline a custom booking layer. The plan recommends one route with reasons.

Can customers book without creating an account?

In most setups, yes. Customers give a name and contact details, and the secure link in their confirmation lets them change or cancel.

Can my booking site take deposits?

Yes, through your payment processor's hosted page or embedded form. Deposit and cancellation rules are shown before the customer pays.

Will appointment times be right for clients in other provinces?

We store times with named time zones, show the zone next to times where it matters and keep the time zone data on the server current and test across clock changes where they still happen. Since November 2026, British Columbia (UTC-7, or UTC-6 in its south-east), Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Manitoba keep one time all year, as Saskatchewan and Yukon already did, and we test for that too.

Privacy, access and ownership

What personal information will my booking form collect?

Only what you need to deliver the appointment, usually a name, a way to reach the customer and the service. Each field has a written reason, and the privacy notice explains them.

Is the booking path accessible?

We design to WCAG 2.2 AA and test the booking path with a keyboard and a screen reader. Our accessibility statement explains what we test and how to report a problem.

Who owns the finished site and the customer data?

You do. Your domain, content, site files and customer records are yours, and third-party accounts are opened in your name.

What happens after launch if something breaks?

The handover notes explain the common fixes. An optional care plan adds monthly checks of the booking path, calendar and payments, and, if something fails, a fix is treated as a priority over new project work.
